Gold Standard Job Roles

The Gold Standard Competency Framework is made up of Gold Standard job roles from level 2 operatives through to graduates. These have been developed by sector employers using the 4 skills areas: technical competence, compliance, business improvement and functional & behavioural. The defined job role skills are much broader than technical and seek to equip an individual with a world class skill set.

After employers have defined the skills required for a Gold Standard job role; the skills are then mapped to training standards and hence to qualifications and training courses. This helps ensure that training is identified that delivers skills valued by employers.

Many of the skills identified in the Gold Standards are transferable between job roles and the Gold Standard Competency Framework helps individuals identify those transferable skills.

Gold Standard job roles have been developed for operators, technician and supervisors as well as more senior roles (defined as industry professional).
